The local currency is the Rufiyaa (Rf), comprising one hundred Laari.  

United States Dollars is the most widely used foreign currency. Other major international currencies can be bought and sold at the banks and authorised money-changers. Major credit cards and travellers cheques are accepted by the hotels and money changers.  

There are no restrictions on the amount of money visitors can bring or take out of the country.
